Making A Difference
In a world full of so many challenges and struggles we can often think what difference can “little ole me” make.
We can make a huge difference, even this very day!
There are people that you know who are longing for an encouraging word that will help on the keep going. Some people who you may or may not know are currently aching with loneliness, and are longing for someone to converse with them. In our community, there are people overwhelmed with financial fears or health worries that need practical help, or at least someone to listen to them. Our conversations, messages and practical actions today have the potential to literally change someone’s life for the better.
The challenge many of us face is simply getting through the day. Some of us are so busy and focused that we don’t notice the people around us need our help. Some of us are finding life so much of a challenge ourselves, that we feel we haven’t got the capacity to give out anything to others.
Even if today is super busy or the challenges you face personally feel overwhelming, having even a few moments where you notice the needs of others and seek to help, can change others for the better. These small moments of helping others also help us.
If you are a person of faith then why not pray each day that you are able to spot the opportunities to make a difference in the people that you see or the people that come into your mind today.
And for everyone, with faith or without faith, saying out loud, “today I want to make a difference in someone’s life” brings it to the forefront of your mind and consciousness, and makes you more likely to notice opportunities.
Here is a song called “Be a Light” that may inspire you further to make a difference today.
